DJJ Disposition Recommendation Matrix Evaluation

As part of the Juvenile Justice System Improvement Project (JJSIP), the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice began implementation of a Disposition Matrix starting in 2013 to guide Juvenile Probation Officers in their recommendations to the court.

This evaluation investigates whether juvenile offenders who receive dispositions within the Disposition Matrix guidelines are less likely to recidivate than youth who receive dispositions which deviate from the Disposition Matrix guidelines. Consideration is also given to the extent to which adherence to the Disposition Matrix guidelines by juvenile court judges varies across characteristics of juvenile offenders (e.g., age, race, sex) as well as across different regions within Florida.

The report pertaining to this evaluation can be accessed here.
